Stump grinding starts at $149. From there it depends on the size and height of the stump and how many you need removed. The more you grind at once, the less each one costs, since we are already on site with the machine. Every quote is free and given before any work begins.
We can grind up to 14 inches deep, assuming we don't encounter excessive rocks or the customer specifically requests a more shallow grind.
Honestly, no. Epsom salt, rock salt, and the store-bought stump removers only speed up rot that takes 15 to 20 years on its own. Burning is risky and rarely even takes it below grade. Hand digging often results in injury, and many rental grinders are underpowered. Our professional equipment and service takes stumps down very quickly and safely.
It's entirely up to you. If your schedule does not allow you to be home, we can text you the free quote, grind on the spot and invoice you for payment when we are finished. However, if you prefer to be home we can absolutely work with your schedule to accommodate you.
Stumps come down quickly. Most are finished in a single visit, often on the same day we quote them. Larger or multiple stumps take longer, but we'll give you a clear time estimate with your quote.
Our equipment is designed to minimize impact on your lawn. We rake and level the area when the grinding is done. If you want the spot cleaned up or reseeded beyond that, we can arrange it through a trusted local partner.
Most customers have us leave the chips on site as free mulch, which keeps the price down. If you would rather have them gone, we can arrange haul-away or reseeding through a trusted local partner. Just tell us what you want when we quote the job.
Grass seed can go down as soon as the area is raked and leveled — just rake the chips aside first so the seed reaches soil. For a new tree, plant a few feet off the old stump location, or have the chips and remaining root material removed so the new roots start in clean soil.
Yes. We handle everything from old oak and maple stumps to smaller invasive species common in the Shenandoah Valley. If the stump is on your property, we can grind it.
Yes. Surface roots that lift concrete or crack asphalt can be ground out, and we work carefully around foundations, walkways, fences, and irrigation. We look the site over before quoting so we know what is underground before the machine starts.

Yes, we grind year-round. Frozen ground is often easier on a lawn than soft spring soil, and winter is usually our fastest turnaround since the schedule is lighter.
